Kikyou Saionji (西園寺 キキョウ, Saionji Kikyō) is the step-mother of Usagi Saionji and the current matriarch of the Saionji Household.

Kikyou is angered by Usagi for having low grades at the Anti-Magic Academy. She decides to give Usagi one more month to stay in school before getting her married off to the Tenmyouji Household.
Etymology[]
- The name Kikyou is written in katakana (キキョウ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (桔梗), it could possibly mean "Chinese bellflower".
- Kikyou's surname Saionji means "west" (西) (sai), "garden, park, plantation" (園) (on), and "temple" (寺) (ji).
